On Saturday, and Sunday, February 11th & 12th, Arts in the Valley host Kim McMillon will interview Tony Slaton, the director of the Boy & Girls Club of Merced County, and Loretta Spence, the head of BET, Business, Educational and Training; and Fairmead Community and Friends boardmembers Vickie Ortiz, and Barbara Nelson; and Merced ShakespeareFest Artistic Director Heike Hambley, and actor Jim Bennett discussing their upcoming production of “Merchant of Venice.”

Merced ShakespeareFest will present its third winter play, “The Merchant of Venice,” at the Merced Multicultural Arts Center, 645 W. Main Street in downtown Merced. It runs for two weekends, starting on Feb. 24 until March 4, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30, Sundays at 2 pm. Tickets are $10 general admission and $5 for students. Tony Slaton and Loretta Spence  will discuss upcoming programs with the Boys & Girls Club of Merced County.The Boys and Girls Club of Merced County is a nonprofit agency providing outreach services and after school programs to Merced youth. Seeking different approaches to serve the needs of Merced area youth, B&GC utilizes a number of various resources, means and approaches.
