Tune into Arts in the Valley on Saturday and Sunday, March 31st at 8 pm, and Sunday, April 1st at 2 pm, as host Kim McMillon interviews Karmic Astrologer Marguerite Manning, Peace and Move Forward business owner Gerry Dove,  Dave Brown and Julio Valdez on A Time to Fly Kite Festival in Livingston; and Carol Wright with the Last Hope Cat Kingdom to discuss Henry the Horse.

To Listen to Astrologer Marguerite Manning, click onto the link:psychic-4

Marguerite Manning is a professional astrologer, author and spiritual life coach who specializes in advancing the universal law of karma through the scientific principles of astrology.

As the founder of Cosmic Connections, a personal enlightenment and astrological counseling service, her work is inspired by the philosophy of Carl Sagan, the spirituality of Edgar Cayce and the belief that only when science and spirit work together does this universe work divinely.

Marguerite Manning’s personal journey of spiritual discovery began in 1994 when after developing a new astrological concept that validated the soul’s history in the birth chart, she started using it to guide her clients to their earthly purpose in the present. Her life long fascination for the stars above was immediately enhanced by a life changing passion for the spirit within as the results were just too remarkable too ignore—making a brand new belief system impossible to avoid. This led to the writing of her first article in 1995 for The Mountain Astrologer, “The 12th House—Your Karmic Closet”. It also inspired her to enlighten others by conducting group seminars on karmic astrology called “Therapy for the Soul.” The tremendous interest and response these workshops generated over the next few years compelled her to share both the philosophy she embraced and the concepts she developed in her bestselling book, Cosmic Karma:  Understanding Your Contract with the Universe.  http://www.margueritemanning.com

To listen to Gerry Dove’s interview, click onto the link:peace and move

In 2011, after being laid off after a 12-year career in radio, Gerry Dove chose to step into the world of entrepreneurship, with his own company, gdove designs, and now has two lines on the market, the first being Peace and Move Forward.  The second line that is now available is Hug Your Child. It is inspired by Gerry’s journey of trying to live life to its fullest each day, and telling the people in his life I love them on a regular basis…because you never know what tomorrow may bring.  On April 20th, Gerry will help train Merced County youth in the first ever Youth Radio of Merced, which will air on Saturday, June 2nd at 8 pm.  If you are a young person interested in radio, the training will take place at the Boys & Girls Club of Merced on Saturday, April 20th from 6-8 pm.  http://www.gdovedesigns.com.

To listen to Last Hope Cat Kingdom interview, click onto this link:cat place

Carol Wright with Last Hope Cat Kingdom will discuss Henry the horse, who was rescued by Last Hope several years ago from a horrifically neglectful and abusive situation in which he and 24 of his Lipizzaner friends were kept locked in tiny stalls and left to suffer all day every day. He was adopted out by his loving caregivers to what seemed to be a caring home. But after several years of living well, Henry’s parent fell on hard times and rather than do what was best for Henry, she chose to let him suffer and starve once again. After an arduous cross-country journey, he is back home at Last Hope, where he will never want for anything again. This includes his considerable medical needs, particularly a delicate surgery that is crucial to his well-being.

Last Hope Cat Kingdom is the ONLY no-kill animal sanctuary in the Merced area. Founded in 2001 by Atwater resident Renate Schmitz and her late daughter, Mona, the sanctuary, located in rural Atwater, CA, features a cattery and lots of acreage for dogs, horses, goats and other animals. We offer rescue, spay and neuter and adoption services for dogs and cats, as well as other domesticated animals.http://www.lasthopesanctuary.org/index.html

On March 24 & 26, Arts in the Valley host Kim McMillon interview British Channeler Tammy Majchrzak on Archangel Metatron and volcano videographer Leigh Hilbert.

To listen to Metatron Channeler Tammy Majchrzak, click onto the link:meditron

Who indeed is Metatron? I have been asked this by so many. I have surfed the net and its a mindfield of information and I would urge you to read and find what resonates for you. But ultimately Metatron is a healing Archangel, the holder of the keys to humanity, the flower of life, sacred Geometry and much much more.

He has been around for millennia and it has been said that he sits closest to the Creator, whomever that may be whether it is God, Jesus or energy, whichever is your belief system. He is the overseer of the energy grids of the Universe, the holder of the keys to humanity and life as we know it. He was present at the creation of the Universe, an overseeing energy light that was able to amend and fix as the world was created, as planets were created, as humanity and life was born.

Life is ever changing, ever evolving. If we look briefly at how we are born, we grow, we grow in height, in shape, in size, our mind also grows, then we reach adulthood and the growing stops, although as we get older we may shrink, our organs and bodies constantly changing. As children our energy is vibrant, as our bodies grow and we become adults. Our blueprint is set from before birth. What we will grow into, but how we look after ourselves and how we think has a great affect on how we grow and how we become…

Metatron holds the keys to the blueprint of  our very soul’s. His main work is to connect and transform the low frequencies that are in and around us, so that our vibrations are raised and we become the true light that we should be. Life often gets in the way, and issues, behaviours, experiences cloud our judgement, mind and behaviour. We literally suffocate our soul’s light.

Metatron again holds the keys, to uplifting us and moving us out of the darkness. He is an Archangel from the highest dimensions. He is able to move in and out of the Universe and reach anywhere in the Universe. He is omnipresent.  He comes to transform us and to bring us into the light.

If we look at ourselves as energy for a second. What frequency are you resonating at? how bright is your light? if your light is dark then you will feel low, if your light is bright, your frequency and energy vibrating high then you will feel uplifted.

Belief, Trust, Surrender – the main key ingredients of how we can work with Metatron. If we call upon him to assist us, we must be ready for great changes to take place. His work is to bring Mankind into a higher frequency. Releasing negativity, releasing drama, ego and victim mentallity. He knows you, he was there when you were created. He holds your blueprint in his hands. He is able, therefore, to reset and realign you to your true frequency, that which was before you became what you are now.

To end…how do I see Metatron is what I get asked so often. To answer this as honestly as I can, to me he is a radiant light, a moving light, a strong, high frequency energy…..he can have many faces, that which we wish to see in this 3 Dimensional living…but for me he is an energy, the highest of frequencies…and he brings comfort and movement and transformations on the highest levels…He is omnipresent, he is all that is, and he divinely guides and moves us to where we need to be. So for me he doesn’t have a face, a 3 dimensional visual/image, for me he is pure light energy, of the highest order. I hope this helps you. He will work with you all uniquely and this is the remarkable journey with Metatron.

Artist Leigh Hilbert’s Statement for Island of Hawaii images:

I primarily take pictures to honor and celebrate the natural beauty and wonders of this planet, including the creatures we share her with. It is my hope that each photo I take represents a small piece of this Big Island that I love. It gives me further pleasure to share my images with you.

The Island of Hawaii, known as the Big Island, has thirteen identifiable ecosystems ranging from starkly beautiful high altitude volcanic cones and lush jungles on one side to bone-dry cactus hills on the other. Seashores of rough lava rock interspersed with sandy beaches surround the island and its coastline is growing as molten lava surges from crater fissures and pumps into the sea. The exotic diversity of the Big Island’s ecology, history and culture leads to endless exciting photographic possibilities. It is a place of great passion and inspiration.

To listen to the interview with Leigh Hilbert, click onto the link:hawaii-1

For more than three decades Leigh’s award winning photos have been published in a variety of newspapers, magazines and books in the US, Canada, and Europe. His photos have also been displayed in numerous galleries; the first being in Sun Valley Idaho in 1972. Leigh taught courses in photography at a community college for two years.

In 1998 Leigh moved to the Island of Hawaii and has been exploring its diverse landscapes, creating a growing collection of incredible photographs that he loves to share with everyone. In Hawaii, besides appearing in Big Island art galleries and shows, his images have been used in leading TV news stories worldwide and have graced the front covers of local newspapers and he has published a limited edition lava book.

In the past few years Leigh has become known as a high definition videographer of Hawaii Island’s Kilauea lava flows and is working on his second feature length molten lava movie. When the lava is flowing outside the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Leigh provides much of the active movie footage used by local television and internet news, as well as national news outlets and also writes an in-depth daily lava flow blog that is read worldwide and included in the newest edition of Lonely Planet Big Island.

Leigh resides at Cape Kumukahi, Kapoho, on the Island of Hawaii.

When lava is flowing outside the national park, I do a bi-weekly lava field report for Big Island Video News, one sample of this can be watched here: http://www.bigislandvideonews.com/2011/01/19/video-lava-burns-third-kalapana-home-in-six-months/

AND on this TV news site you can watch both news and raw video of lava taking out Gary Sleaik home on July 25th, 2010: http://www.kltv.com/Global/story.asp?S=12876736 AND also Jean Olson’s home being lost to molten lava on November 27th, 2010 here> http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/global/category.asp?c=6743&clipid=5334121&topvideocatno=91610&autostart=true>

On June 4th, 2010 I completed a feature length documentary film that closely covers a spectacular April to May 2010 surface flow of lava. Gallery link here: http://www.leigh-hilbert-photography.com/Professional/My-new-feature-length-molten/12463082_QqFwd#892716227_JKbqV

I am currently working on a new feature length lava movie.

On March 17 & 18, Arts in the Valley host Kim McMillon interviews poet Norman Finkelstein and medical intuitive Monet Brooks.

To listen to poet Norman Finkelstein, click onto the link:finkelstein

Norman Finkelstein received his B.A. from Binghamton University and his Ph.D. from Emory University. He is a Professor of English at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he has lived since 1980. He is the author of eight books of poetry and five books of literary criticism, and has written extensively about modern poetry and Jewish literature. His most recent books are SCRIBE (Dos Madres Press, 2009), On Mount Vision: Forms of the Sacred in Contemporary American Poetry (University of Iowa Press, 2010), and INSIDE THE GHOST FACTORY (Marsh Hawk Press, 2010).

INSIDE THE GHOST FACTORY finds Norman Finkelstein returning to his pre-TRACK fascination with the Coleridgean fancy, first delineated in Restless Messengers. Here, however, Samuel Coleridge meets William Gibson and the result is a retro- Blakean myth for the age of Text and Tweet. These transmissions from ‘elsewhere,’ manufactured on the assembly lines of ‘Ghosts, Incorporated. Poetry, Incorporated’ (Limited, I might add), are gleefully dissected by Finkelstein as so much ‘clap-trap.’ Still, there’s no correcting the blur of occultation and occlusion for the poet who believes ‘Books were made for secrets they cannot/keep: this is what it means to be/read'”—Tyrone Williams.

Arts in the Valley presents an impromptu jazz session with Roddy Jackson, Cheryl Lockett, and Gloria Coronas.

Click onto the link to listen to Roddy Jackson, Cheryl Lockett, and Gloria Coronas jammin’ arts jam

With his gravel-filled vocals and piano-pounding antics, Roddy Jackson was sort of a West Coast version of Jerry Lee Lewis in the late ’50s.  His legacy is a solid one, and he is one of the last true rockabilly pioneers still out on the circuit. Born as George Roderick Jackson in California around 1940, Jackson fronted the multi-racial Blue Notes out of Merced, CA, beginning in 1956, but once signed to Art Rupe’s Specialty Records imprint, Jackson became essentially a solo act. Specialty released three Jackson singles in 1958 and 1959, all produced by Sonny Bono, “I’ve Got My Sights on Someone New”/”Love at First Sight,” the double-sided classic “Hiccups”/”Moose on the Loose,” and “Any Old Town”/”Gloria.” Jackson was the real deal, an exciting performer who shouted out his material with explosive force, pummeling the piano like it was a personal threat to his well-being, and occasionally showing off his considerable saxophone skills as well.

Cheryl Lockett, a song stylist, whose riveting voice and warm style promises any listener an aesthetically pleasing and cohesive composition of music that flows like silk. Cheryl, a California native and gifted with many talents, cultivates, curate and presents an eclectic vision of sound that appeals to a diverse listening audience. A fusion of Jazz, Gospel, Blues, Pop, Funk and Afro-Cuban music reflect her vocal style. Flexible in multiple genres, this hot talent has filled every seat in all auditoriums she has graced. It is without wonder that Lockettʼs talent lead her to sharing the stage with Bay Area master musicians like Latin drummer/percussionists Raul Pineda, Jesus Diaz and Danilo Paiz, guitarist Rolando Morales, bassist Mark Van Waganengen and Rigoberto Lopez, pianist Gustavo Ramirez and the late Dave Wallace. In the Northern California region, Lockett has performed on numerous occasions with the DBaba Project.

Gloria (Lopez) Coronas comes from a line of musicians and entertainers.  Some professionals and some not, but they all love music.  We had hula dancers, ukulele players, guitar, saxophone, bass, mandolin, singers, and drummers. She started singing professionally at the age of 15 and her mother would accompany her wherever she had a gig.

She met and worked with jazz musicians and did shows in the Waikiki nightclubs and toured the islands.  Wherever her husband got stationed she managed to meet musicians and did shows in Japan, Philippines, Texas, Georgia, back to Hawaii, and then ended up in Merced in ’74.  Gloria started out as a Duo, her husband on guitar while she played the keyboard and sang.  At that time they were known as ‘THE ISLANDERS.  They changed their name to ‘THE CROWNS’ because some people thought they only played Hawaiian music.  At present, Gloria is doing a solo gig every Friday night at Fernando’s Bistro.
