Tune into Arts in the Valley on Saturday, August 6th at 8:05 PM for host Kim McMillon’s interview of the Imam of The Islamic Center of Modesto, one of the oldest Mosques in Stanislaus and San Joaquin counties. The Mosque was established in 1983.

The Modesto Imam (preacher), Ahmad Kayello, who originated from Lebanon, will discuss Ramadan and the origins of Islam on Arts in the Valley. Ramadan, which began August 1st, is the 9th month in the Islamic (lunar) year calendar. Muslims fast every day in the month of Ramadan from dawn to sunset from food, drink, and other things that break the fast. It is a time for inner reflection, devotion to God, and self-control.
