The First Annual Run for the Fallen Fort Ord 10k was established to honor the sons of Monterey who gave their last full measure of devotion to their country in the recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The race course, which is in the newly established Fort Ord Dunes State Park, is a rolling 10K that offers fast times and magnificent views of the Monterey Bay and the Monterey Peninsula. All proceeds from the event will go to charities dedicated to honor the memories of the fallen or assisting the men and women returning from war.
